Fucking roller coaster. My heart was racing at the beginning, I’m too old for all this stress. I’m glad Sayu was able to normal things with a kid. Also, surprised Yoshida didn’t beat that yanguchi or whatever to a pulp. |

I hope Yaguchi is a passing storm that wont come back to haunt Sayu again. Already haunted enough. If Sayu didn't had the good will to tell Asami about her past. After Asami stood for her. I would be really pissed with this episode. So was good second half of the episode, with that heart to heart between Asami and Sayu. Next episode looks like beginning of the journey back to the way. |

He put a few points to Yoshida and all he can say is that he doesn't know why he is helping Sayu so much. Let's see if he will find out in future, eh? Whenever people ask Yoshida what he is doing, he is never able to answer them in a satisfactory way, but he has a lot to say to Sayu, it's almost as if they are in their own little world. For a creep, Yaguchi seems to have thought things through far more than Yoshida has. I came to say this but you worded it far better than I could, so thank you for your post. |

I'm not going to defend the guy because he came on too strong, but, at the end, Sayu had to say 'go ahead', after all this time, she still decided that the best thing was to give in to him. This is partly due to the fact that her and Yoshida are in such a strange situation. And how long are people going to let Yoshida say he doesn't know why he is helping her? He ought to start working it out, before it is impossible to get rid of her. If he ends up with her, and waited till she was 18 or 19 to have sex with Sayu, is he much better? Sayu said it herself, she had sex with Yaguchi loads of times. He was wrong this time but he wasn't raping her before. It isn't either/or, Yaguchi is bad so Yoshida must be great. Yoshida still doesn't seem to realise that he is already in a relationship with a 17 year old. |

Yoshida really have a huge self control, huh. Felt kinda unrealistic though & made the scene losing some tension. Also Yoshida coming to the scene so suddenly without any sign beforehand felt weird. As well as Sayu just casually laughing at Yaguchi's words after he apologized. I know the last 2 points were just bad adaptation, and weren't supposed to be like that in the LN. But it's a shame because it made it hard to actually feel anything other than confusion during these "emotional scenes". Anyhow, Sayu and Asami's friendship was really wholesome and was the best thing about this episode. |

Does anybody know if the manga's author, Shimesaba, or the series director, Manabu Kamikita, are women or not? I have a feeling that they are, just because it would be really messed up for a guy to be writing this story, but maybe thats just me hoping. |

A really great episode this week. Immediately right off the bat revealing that Yaguchi was one of the guys Sayu slept with was shocking, and I knew this was going to be a wild one. Yaguchi almost immediately tries to get with Sayu again. And Sayu feels as though she's trapped and has to let him have his way or else it could cause trouble for Yoshida. The guy is clearly a scumbag, having the gall to approach Sayu again after throwing her out takes some balls. I think it was a little iffy that Yoshida arrived at the last second conveniently. How would he know that she was in trouble? The second half of the episode was a powerful one. Asami's speech and her just being there for Sayu as a friend shows how critical friends can be in times like this. |

The-Wombat said: So this was the worst episode of the show so far. Complete bait and switch. She invites Yaguchi back and it's obvious now shit is about to go down, the lid is about to be blown. So he is stopped as he's forcing himself on her then threatens to blow the lid. Yoshida attacks with EMOTIONS. The next day Yaguchi is reformed and isn't going to blow the lid because "He promised" Really? Like I think this episode will be forgotten the rest of the series, reformed Yaguchi will appear maybe once or twice again. I think Sayu is an interesting character because she is so messed up and repeatedly makes terrible decisions for herself, something many people in real life do. She obviously doesn't want to invite Yaguchi back home, but feels forced to by circumstance. In this same way, she gives in to Yaguchi's demands again because she feels like she has no other choice in the circumstance. Clearly, Sayu is incredibly traumatized and perhaps because of this she makes impulsive and emotional decisions without really thinking about the ramifications of them. The main example of this is Yamaguchi's threat to tell work about her. The reason Yamaguchi is "reformed" the next day is because if he told work about him and Sayu he would be telling them about a crime he committed. There was never any real way Yamaguchi would have told anybody about Sayu, but because Sayu was incredibly scared in the moment Yamaguchi confronted her she did not think anything through and just gave into his demands and hoped that he was telling the truth that he just wanted to talk. Anybody who had a clear head in that moment would be able to tell that the chances of Yamaguchi only "talking" are incredibly low... |

I'm pretty sure she has a trauma about it. How can you laughed about it? Saying "You really such a weird guy" WHY!? HOW!? Just throwing my two pennies in here, but I believe knowing that you have allies on your side will give you enough bandwidth to laugh at a predator who's pretending to act decent. It's good that Sayu realizes that Yaguchi is a pathetic creep who isn't worth stressing over. |

Morsse said: What the hell did I just witness. I didn't even have to turn my brain on for this episode. It was so mediocre and bad that I don't know where to start. So I'll start with the things I liked. Oh wait, there's only two things, THE FACT that I didn't have to witness an underaged girl getting raped and the fact that she smiles again . But that's about it. I wanted so bad to feel hate for that guy but our main charachters have such bad/weak reactions to what's happening that I'm cringing so hard I literally paused and asked myself why am I even watching this. Is this the same anime I was watching a week ago? The reactions Yoshida had were as weak as Sayu's but he's just lucky he's a straight up adult and most likely stronger than Yaguchi, otherwise he'd be crying in a corner like Sayu. What was that? Why are the authors trying to make us sympathize with a guy who attempted rape and probably even raped the girl before, judging by her reactions. After all that thought process, Yoshida came up with the simplest reply ever that sounded so weak I expected the guy to laugh at him but instead reacts as a mature person and says some good things and leaves? That's not what a rapist would sound like or anyone with his possesive/agressive personality, for Christ sake. The guy did a 360 and turned into a good guy in an instant? Why did they make the guy spit up straight facts at Yoshida and show our beloved strong protagonist being helpless before a disgusting human being? I felt more like Yoshida and Sayu lost, even though the guy didn't even rape Sayu and technically lost his chance to having sex with her for ever. And after the trauma Sayu had with him that she was literally uncontrollably shaking and was also almost raped after giving up fighting over her freedom, she comes up the next day blushing and laughing saying that she's not mad at all anymore? Excuse me? Is this anime making fun of traumas and rape cases? If Yoshida wasn't home for whatever reason, I say that because I didn't understand why he was home so early since he usually comes way later, but the anime failed to explain us that.. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad, and it's not that big of a detail, but man that guy came out of nowhere. I loved that though. Why wouldn't I? I don't want to see Sayu getting hurt. The only one that actually had a good reaction was Asami. I'm sorry to anyone if I offended you in my last comments on the ep5 thread about Asami not being good enough. I'm literally eating my words rn. But even if her reactions were so serious, they made her blush when she was saying it which honestly kinda took away that serious pose she had seconds before that. I'm honestly dissapointed of how this important episode that shows Sayu's growth in character and at the same time one of the scariest thing for a girl to ever experience... and everything just got resolved, in an instant. (I'm not talking about the rape scene, I mean after that). I didn't even have enough time to feel hate for that guy, since everything went from grey to pink in minutes. She still for some reason kinda likes the guy even if he made several disgusting and inhumane things to her, she also keeps working there, which in my opinion is wierd as hell, also the fact that Yoshida doesn't have anything against it, nor does Asami, makes it even wierder...atleast Asami doesn't want to lose Sayu... but if I was Sayu, I wouldn't want to see my rapist every single day... Does that mean that we will see him more often from now on ? I hope not... At the end of the day though I really enjoyed seeing Sayu smile with Asami and the fact that her relationship with Yoshida is getting stronger and wholesomer but I think that I expected too much for this episode, I thought it would make me feel a train of emotions but instead I just looked with a confused face at the screen more than half of the episode. I'm happy for them though.. I have exactly same beef with this episode, unfortunately it seems in Japan media rape attempt is often brushed off as not so serious as long as it failed - this is so annoying. When I think how this rapist POS could destroy Sayu emotionally after she just started to get her life back... I tried to trim the quote but I can't find anything I wouldn't completely agree with. |

easily the worst episode for more than one reason even if everyone realized the moment this trash showed up last week that'd it would happen and it still did but not only did the dude that attempted rape get off pretty easy Sayu legit the next day is giggling at him saying shes not mad anymore but wont forgive him still because he kept his promise??? like i realized shes like not smart at all but what is this writing like i know japanese laws regarding rape cases is piss poor so i wasn't expecting it to go that far seeing as what position Yoshida is in himself ,i'm just trying to see what this authors views are with how quickly everything was dealt and how little the repuercussions were for this asshole doing it. waiting on Sayus backstory because that will be the final draw in if i put this in the trash tier or not Asami was good shit though |

Can't believe how amazing this episode ended up being, that guy was the one... unfortunately but i never expected the issue to get "solved" so quickly. For the first time, Yoshida wasn't the only MVP in this episode, Asami decided to enter the game, she's just so good! This is going so nice, but it's already eps 6, i do wonder what scary things expect us in the future... |

Feel free to correct me. I'm not that kind of person that will be angry because someone corrects them; 1. First of all, How Yoshida-san knew about the creepy guy and Sayu was in the house? In this episode, it was not answered. (I really hopes in the next episodes we get the answer) 2. The way Yoshida handled the creepy guy when he caught him; I don't really think that Yoshida-san really is adult inside. If it's some adult guy found out about it, I'm pretty sure they will beaten the guy especially when he confessed that he did asked about the sex and seeing Sayu-chan not comfortable with it when he saw them. It's just so disappointing seeing Yoshida-san having a mental breakdown talking with the younger guy. 3. Why the heck Sayu-chan laughed when she talked with that creepy guy? I'm pretty sure she has a trauma about it. How can you laughed about it? Saying "You really such a weird guy" WHY!? HOW!? 1) in LN & previous ep Asami had warned Yoshida about him (in the LN she described him as a Manwhore). Sayu texted Yoshida saying the shift manager was going round (He knew it was the dodgy guy) and he didn't like the wording, he tried texting her back and got no reply so rushed out of work to see if she was OK - all this was skipped in the adaptation. 2) Yoshida crying was due to him realising how much abuse Sayu had suffered before he rescued her and that none of the other "Adults" had bothered to help her. He couldn't beat up the scumbag as that could get the police involved. 3) That scene wasn't like that in the LN - she just calls him weird and leaves the office, Yaguchi basically admits he got carried away and said he'd never rape anyone, only having consensual sex and it'd be bad for his reputation if he'd continued. They chopped out Asami getting a bike from home and Sayu sitting on the back with her arms around Asami telling he what had happened since she ran away as they cycled to the spot with the stars. Ep.6 adapted : LN Volume 2 - chapters 12 - 16 (P74 - 101) - just leaving two short epilogues uncovered. So Ep.7 starts : LN Volume 3 - at this rate they'll finish the English translated volumes by Ep.10 - I can't wait for Ao Kanda and Issa to turn up.. Either Yoshida isn't being honest with himself or he is a bad written character because if he really is so benevolent as the show tries to make him look like, he should call the cops, but that thought never crossed his mind. And he trying to argue with a rapist was just the icing on the cake. |

Ok, I didn't like the way they handled this AT ALL. So enter Mr. Asshole, a despicable human being who already took advantage of Sayu and now he's making her uncomfortable at work. She reluctantly takes him home where he TRIES TO RAPE HER and if it wasn't for Yoshida he would have succeeded... He's confronted and actually admits it and what does he get? A slap in the wrist (or rather, the face) and a "say you're sorry to her!" like if they were 6 years old and he would have stolen a toy from her. When Sayu asks "why didn't you say anything?" and he's like "I promised you I wouldn't"... was that a try for humanizing him? For us to sympathize with him and think "oh, see? Mr. Asshole is not so bad after all... forget about how he SEXUALLY ABUSED AN UNDERAGED GIRL AND TRIED TO RAPE HER A SECOND TIME... at least he keeps his promises!". And what's worse, Sayu is like "lol" at him, like this is all fine. This was seriously fucked up. This is the first actual problem I've got with the show. Aside from that, I'm liking Asami, she's a cool girl. Fucult01 said: First of all, he is a type of guy who lets some random girl stay at his place for her own sake, so he's a new level of good guy and how that same guy doesn't even think about arresting a psychopath even if he ended screwed up himself in the process? My problem is just that it doesn't fit his personality being a chill guy after all he had done. I don't care about this character, so it doesn't matter. To be honest, all characters aside from Yuzuha are dull and generic. The worst one being Asami. I don't know why this fandom seems to like her so much, since she is the most problematic one. Quoting her ''From listening to you, i can tell your past has been rough. But there was a reason for it. I promise'' OMG, that was one of the worst lines I've ever seen in any kind of show. How can she said that after listening to her backstory? Yeah, let's tell people who got sexually assaulted that there's a reason for this and it will be okay. And the fans: oooh so cute. Good work author. Kaifuku at least don't try to be anything more than a disturbing fan service to people mentally ill. It would have been far better if higehiro were just a fun slice of life. HikariShoumeiron said: I agree with everything you said except for Asami. She is the worst character.Ok, I didn't like the way they handled this AT ALL. Regarding Sayu backstory, he doesn't even know why she doesn't want to go back to her parents, if I were in his shoes I would think it's just teenage drama. So at least he should talk to her and try to understand why she doesn't want to go back(which he didn't). The real problem is that he didn't try to do anything other than kicking the guy out. And don't even come with that bs of not understanding a rapist ffs this is worse than kaifuku I agree on that Yoshida should try to talk to Sayu about why she ran away from home, but honestly, if saw a girl who would prefer being sexually abused by men instead of going home, I'd assume what was going on at home was some serious shit, not just teenage drama (But judging by the this ep, now it wouldn't surprise me if it actually was some teenage crap). |

The moment this serie had to resort to plain cartoonish villains to move the plot forward it started to dig its own grave Ofc people are gonna bite the bait and hating the guy and loving Yoshida because the serie didn't find another way to glorify him nocivo said: The first 10 min were needed to make the last 10 minutes even better. They needed an excuse to have those iterations way better. Making the viewer unconformable makes the making up part way sweeter. Is even better if you see the "knight" protesting the "princess". If you liked the MC, now you love the MC. You said it, it's an excuse, instead of a proper natural way to make us "loving the MC" as they did in the first three chapters. It feels cheap and artificial. That's not exactly good writing, that's resorting to plot devices. |

Good episode, except the scene where Sayu laughs at what Yaguchi said isn’t real considering he tried to rape her the day before. And his quick turn to be “not such a bad guy after all” isn’t believable either. Other than that I liked it, especially the scenes with Asumi. She’s a good friend and someone Sayu can trust that’s her age. Considering the 2 girls at work have their own shortcomings, and it’s getting harder for me to imagine Sayu staying permanently with Yoshida now that the focus seems to be her getting her shit together and going back home (which I think it should be), I can easily see the show ending with Yoshida x nobody. But if he saves Sayu from falling off a cliff, that’s way worth it just for the karma reward. |

Man, I ain't watching some blackmail story unfold on my leisure time Edit: I had to skip the whole episode because I aint no NTR lover and the fact that the author made that dude sound like a cool guy "but I told you I wouldn't tell anyone if you brought me over" man, that author is just stupid, I really wanted to like this story but I am hating it more with each episode. |

A lot of people seem to have gotten an emotional response out of the new scumbag introduced in this episode. While I understand why people are disgusted, because it's a disgusting human being, the show still falls flat and fails to invoke any sort of emotional response out of me. Why? Because I don't care about Sayu. I don't care about her issues. I don't care about what she has gone through. I don't care about her character development. I don't care about the obvious melodrama that the story is presenting, just to get more cheap reactions out of people. MC did something anybody with a moral compass would do. Though, one has to wonder how he was able to duck out of work immediately after getting the text from Sayu. There's a lot of convenient plot devices at play, and the show isn't anywhere near compelling enough to actually make any use out of them. This story is so shallow and uninspired. If I had any self respect for myself, I'd drop it for the sake of my sanity. However... onwards I go. Hoping it will do something to impress me. Knowing with almost certainty that it will not. (And my negative opinion will offend those that are enjoying it. Might even get a couple "well if you don't like it don't watch it, however that is the most dogmatic, narrowminded mentality to have. I want to see for myself why people keep hyping this show up as the best of the season. We're almost at the halfway point, and it is the worst show of the season in my book.) 90293otaku said: Good episode, except the scene where Sayu laughs at what Yaguchi said isn’t real considering he tried to rape her the day before. The show (or author, I'm unfamiliar with the novel so I can only speculate) does a really poor job of showcasing a new antagonist character. Are we supposed to hate him? But, he didn't tell Sayu's coworker about their previous transgressions. He promised her! So... he's a good guy! It just further cements that the characters are extremely poorly written. You can't just introduce a character that rapes your beloved female character, and then the next day try to humanize him. The funniest part is that this episode isn't even the problem I have with the show. It's just the tip of the iceberg at this point. |

Hoping it becomes more intriguing as it wraps up. Expectations aren't low or high, they're just neutral for me. Who knows, maybe it'll surprise and become super interesting at some point. This episode felt relatively wholesome, but there is an empty, contrived feeling to the entire show that I can't shake. As far as the Yaguchi dude, I think the idea was to make him somewhat humanized in order to potentially reveal even further developments of his dark side later on. I doubt he just gave up this early on being the asshole. That would make for a very short-lived so called antagonistic element. If this is the only "evil" part of the show, then there isn't any danger left and that won't help this show. |

Looks like a Yaguchi hate thread tbh. Deserved I believe. Can't say I liked this episode. I feel it was too soon to try and clear Sayu and Yaguchi's relation from bad to deal-able. Seems like they tried to make him less of a scumbag but that's impossible now given his actions. I feel that this was his worst and going ahead they'll only make him a passively neutral guy. Hope they won't try to redeem this guy. Also I feel like the last episode shouldn't have shown Sayu and Yaguchi together. It totally denied the tension that could be created in this episode. First half of this episode would have been better if it was more unpredictable |

Yaguchi is just a plot device to push the story forwards, he'll help Sayu later on ( probably Ep.8 - for his own twisted reasons). He's used to show how she's been objectified and abused and how living with Yoshida has made it so being abused is not OK - Yaguchi sees her as nothing but a sex toy, something to be played with if you get the chance, now Sayu has stood up to him and he knows people are looking out for her, he'll leave her alone. The attempted rape scene was adapted better than it was written in the LN - the rest of the episode wasn't - too much context cut out so it all felt contrived and over simplified (eg Yoshida getting the text at work and how he left in a hurry because he was worrying about her). For those trying to work stuff out - go back to the episode where she has the flashback and throws up (about 20 mins in) - replay the flashback at slow speed 0.25x and you can see what looks like a rape and a girl going to jump off something - friends suicide maybe. |

I know this episode is disturbing but it's also a great one because Sayu was finally able to tell Asami about her past. Props to Yoshida for kicking the bum out of his house, the dude deserves to get beaten up for taking advantage of Sayu. |

God damn I hated the way the laughed off attempted rape in this episode. "iT's Ok CuZ nOtHiNg HaPpEnEd" Like damn, this guy almost rapes her, threatened to report her (making her lose her job and might even lead to a full on police investigation) and the episode concludes that "hE iS a NiCe GuY, jUsT dId A bAd ThInG" And Yoshida stands there and becomes insecure after saving her from the whole situation. I liked him until this, he is spineless in this episode and it completely ruined this anime for me. I expected more from this anime but god damn it went from a 8.5-9/10 to a 3-4/10 for me. I'm so pissed off that this episode conclusion was so light hearted and everyone is just like "No harm so we all good now". |
