Most of them make money through PPVs anyways. Even before this stupid DRM thing a lot of them are doing discounts. What do you mean by extremely low, like below $5 .
They might get a lump sum but IDK, it feels like unless they send out the message to purchase PPVs constantly it'd be impossible to make more through that than subs because not all PPV's are sent to every subscriber at once.
It's why a bunch of them post teasers on twitter, don't say the videos they posted are PPV and then invite people to pay for them on the feed AFTER they subscribe and can't be refunded.
It feels like PPV's mainly work on people interested in those muscular straight dudes, who already make a killing just reposting instagram feed safe content reposting faceless 10 second jerkoff videos people gush about in these threads after they paid like 20-30 dollars+ for them (which is insane).
Some I've never seen do super steep discounts are just generally great creators with no ppvs (like throatbuddy, rperaltax, thatguyfromwalesyoufollow etc)
I personally have just left subs on to creators who just at least post once a week and dont constantly beg me to keep resub on for a vid they are teasing on their twitter or hitting me up in the inbox every other day with the video I thought I'd be getting by paying.
I sometimes wish I could get instant refunds on the ones who only do PPVs because at that rate just make it free and let me buy the video I wanted from your feed.
Some of the creators I see pretty much generally liked and reacted with most on twitter (and with a high amount of likes on their content) generally just post something to their feed every few days and don't tease things for PPV, they just charge for custom solos.
