| I think most people's argument these days is more about the availability of their favorite shows, and how there's like 6000 different streaming platforms nowadays. It feels like every other show you'd want to watch is on a different streaming service. That redundancy is what people don't want to pay for. Plus, plenty of shows aren't streamed anywhere, be it due to popularity, age, or a myriad of other reasons. How else am I supposed to watch them? Buying a $40 DVD? | People that watch along side someone who is paying, watching on TV etc also dont pay. It is a complete non issue. Pirates are part of the success of the anime industry. I do think if someone can afford it for something they like they should put money to the manga, light novel, anime, visual novel, mobile games and merchandising if they like those and have money to spare if the money goes to the right people. But it also is an issue in the industry and some general products some things are ridiculously overpriced so they hold back on people being able to buy things. |

| For example in my country (Romania), u cant watch anime only on Netflix, where u can find a small collection (like 50 - max 100 series), u can watch on Disney+, HBO MAX and prime video, where u can find in all of them 5 or 10 series. I have money to pay if, idk, crunchy wants to move here (we already have crunchyroll but only with english subs), but until this moment, i need to be a pirate. And its ok to pirate, like if im an evangelion fan and i talk abt evangelion with my friends, they will pay netflix to watch it, so it makes money. |
