as funny as it was the first time someone said it, i gotta say that this is a pretty deep misunderstanding of carcinization. Unfortunately, mammals will not turn into crabs over time, and crabs are not the ultimate life form. They are the ultimate lifeform for their niche, oceandwelling bottom-feeders, so things like lobsters or things that are slightly different from crabs will slowly evolve into crabs. It's possible that a similar "ultimate life form" exists for other niches, including ours, but obviously, a pattern is yet to emerge. Perhaps we're that ultimate life form, and other mammals will begin ambulating on two legs and gain greater cognition in a few hundred billion years. Perhaps not. Too early to tell.
