| The show is back! And the suffering never ends. The first half of this episode consisted of the mental struggles of the cast again in a war filled timeline, especially for Shin. So good to hear the show's ED theme song again. Honestly, seeing Lena remind Shin of all their times together was also a highlight. | Well it’s finally here after suffering from some horrible scheduling problems, and I’m fully aware of the crazy cliffhanger they left us on before signing off three months ago. And well they didn't waste any time, straight up showing Shin’s fair share of suffering till now. Again can’t help but feel sympathy for this guy. Great to see Lena, but feels like it’s still a great deal of wait before we see both her and Shin’s confrontation, face-to-face that is. Also thankfully everyone’s fine too, at least for now. So a nice comeback with the eventual penultimate episode. |

| Not gonna lie this episode felt like I’m watching some cinema because the scenery was really beautiful and top a notch! Anyways Shin is definitely getting various flashbacks from when he was little and looking all of these people who have died from the battlefield in blood is very traumatizing for Shin, I find it lowkey funny and sad at the same time when he’s stabbing his own logo, poor Shin (Props to the VA who has done a fantastic job). YOOOOO LENA IS BACK AND I TOTALLY TEARED UP WHEN SHE SHOWED THE LETTER TO SHIN, it made me remembered the moment where Lena was reading the letter from each and every squad members from the last / special episode from the first cour ;) but when will we be able to get to see the face-to-face :(? and sad the next episode is going to be the end of season 1 I suppose, and glad the squad is safe and sound for the most part! Man I will never get over Shin's eye because it's beautiful here ;)  |

| 3 months of waiting, 86 has gracefully returned. This episode was fucking beautiful and well-directed again. Voices of chord was a great OST choice and fortunately made me cry. The voice acting from Shin was god damn incredible, you can hear the pain within him. WELCOME BACK BEST GIRL |
| Glad 86 is back. The reunion was amazing. Shin is starting to see a semblance of a reason to push forward. The road is still long and full of uncertainties, but from here on out, he can at least start to see something he can value in this world and keep him grounded. |

| After 3 months of waiting (quite the ~86 days worth of wait), it is back. The little recap of where we are left off with the cliffhanger battle of the Nouzen brothers Shin and Kiriya, Shin's worst fears are faced yet again with his inner devil of an older brother, but yet has the resounding support of the 86-ers who came and gone in his life. Boy, Lena's back...not just ANY kind of return, but as the Bloody Reina herself in the sea of blooming red poppies, encountering Shin physically for the very first time where both finally got to see each other in their true physical flesh (dang, Lena ALMOST got a glimpse of Shin), leaving him in tears. Now that's what you call a reunion with the obvious well-directed OST ("Avid" will always be 86's defining ED theme song) and A-1 Pictures putting forth their best production making this episode movie-like worthy quality. The Nordlicht Squadron survived with whoever's remained and survived the hellish ordeal with the Legion, and the mission to save the old Republic of San Magnolia is Ernst's next move, but of course, Shin and the other 86-ers are staying behind in where they truly belong in the Giad Federacy, and Frederica gives Shin a reason to push forward in his quest in whatever he does next. Of course, Raiden and the others can't forget about Lena's unwavering love for Shin, which her word finally becomes very explicit to everyone involved whom listened to her transmission. A resounding comeback for the final 2 episodes of Anime Trending's 2021 new AOTY, and can't wait for the finale we've been waiting for so long since last season's many delays. |

| It has been a long 3 months wait, but finally 86 is back and its back to its best. There were some changes here and there in comparison with the source, but man the end result was as fantastic as it could get. Brilliant directing on all fronts and the first half in particular almost seemed it came out straight from a movie thanks to the visual presentation. So many sweet visual details to enjoy and then the OST peaked when Voice of the Chord played as Lena “saved” Shin. It was as emotional as it could get and finally my boy Shin found a semblance of a reason to push him forward, since if he wants to showcase a world outside the war to Lena then he must pave the path of their shared road. 1 more episode left and here I hope that half of it is focused on some original content from the PoV of Lena (and what she experienced on her side of the war) in order to make the bridge to the final scene of vol3. |

| So close yet so far. Lena and Shin was this close yet she didn't get to meet him face to face. I wanted so badly for them to meet but looks like it'll still be a while before that happens. Just one more episode to go, hopefully we'll get a new season announcement. |

| Its kinda frustrating that Lena did not get to see him. But even if Lena does not have perfect pitch she should have been able to recognize Shin's voice just like he did for her... And he called her Major many times... Gotta say this season ED song is the main drawback for me, no matter how many times I listen to this, can't like it. |

| WTF THIS IS CINEMA-LIKE QUALITY, the 3 months wait was SO WORTH IT Lena and Shin's first physical encounter despite not being really face-to-face AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, and lo and behold the other 86'ers got animoo plot armor |
| All I can say is, the production here is fucking insane. It really felt like a high budget movie. The use of different display ratios and characters breaking out of formats (Shin's hand gets cut off, Lena walking through the flower field)... it was stunning. Great music and great colors too. A standing ovation for the production team, bravo. |

| After many production issues and a 3 month hiatus, 86 is finally back and wow, what a fucking return. Shin was getting psychologically fucked as he was reliving a lot of his traumatizing and painful experiences. This dude has gone through more than his fair share of suffering. But man....that scene between Shin and Lena was perfection. The voice acting, OST, visuals, everything was on point. After everything they've been through together, and after not having contact with each other for so long, this was such an emotional reunion. You can tell how much they both truly care for each other. I just hate that they were so close to physically being face to face, only for that to be interrupted. Still, what an amazing scene. |

| Man, this episode was such a treat! Such a poor timing to keep us hanging for this long. I would've instantly bough the novel if I knew that this was right in store for me! Shin being literally and figuratively saved by Lena was honestly touching and heartwarming. Only if Shin just went out of the machine and revealed himself, damn it xD. I've seen this kind of trope in the medium every now and then and it always gets to me *sigh* But honestly, I get where he's coming from so I'll let it pass for now. Some aggressive imagery at the start, though. It was clear as daylight that Shin was looking to just drop dead somehow but for his mental state to have gotten this bad was a strong message. "You can only be reborn while being alive" - I just came across this qoute from one of Uniqlo's graphic t-shirts in the store, and this right here proves just that. Add to that, another ost possibly sung by Mizuki again and boy, this is what mesmerised me last year. It seems like the field commander of the current 86 team that she leads figured out who he is. I wonder if she'll tell it to Lena and how she'll consequently react from that xD. The next meeting better be the actual stuff! Funny stuff in the end there, lol. Shin's such a liar, he totally saw her and half fell for her too. Love the way Lena gave a wave before the hatch closed and all those truly concerned about Shin latched on to the calls. Kurena jokes too because why not. Good for the eyes, these. A minor complaint from my side was the fact that everyone from the squad seemingly managed to survive. Now, don't me wrong. But it just feels like the war kind ended off on a little too nice of a note. Also, the fact that the series nearly killed off everyone in the past season so I've mixed feelings that the show might be trying to compensate for that and become a bit lighter or something of the sort. I remember the President saying something about destroying the world earlier, I wonder where he got the confidence to do that from. Good to hear him chime in for a bit as well. Respect to Kiriya for using his last bit of strength to save the Princess. At this point, they should've just given us both the episodes at once lol. It's going to be another excruciating wait till the next... I'm so glad I took the time to rewatch the series. During the run of this season, I was thinking that things were getting convoluted and rushed and while the latter may still be true to some extent, the former not really. I freakin' love this series, and need more of it! Please, give us the Season 3 announcement next week! |

| Its been too long but its nice to see Shinn again even for just two episodes. The psych aspect of the fight where Shin and Kiriya faced each other was pretty nice. It really shows just how much Shinn had hidden within his heart. Not to mention the fear that he had as well. That scene where all the Morpho's butterflies vanished to show the red flowers again was nicely done that paved the way for Lena's return. The text to speech exchange between Lena and Shinn was pretty odd but i guess Shinn can't exactly get out of his mech. But Lena's speech really was the best way for her to re enter Shinn's life while showing well her new core focus in life. The reunion as a whole was done excellently. And in the end its nice that not only Grethe but the rest of the team survived as well. The exchange with Frederica in the end while amusing also allowed Shinn to get quite a bit off his chest as well. |

| Holy shit, this entire episode is far better than how it is portrayed in the LN! Ladies and gentleman, this is what we can actually get when an anime production staffs are filled by a bunch of passionate peoples that also given proper production schedule to finish their job. This episode amazing quality make the 3 months wait worth more than it should lol. If only this thing can be applied to other anime production too... Anyways, I can't wait for the final episode. |

| 86 Saturdays are backkkk. A-1 kept us waiting, but it seems like the wait was well worth it. Production quality today was superb. 86 has always had film-like quality, but it was on another level today. Love the shin hallucination sequence. His seiyuu’s performance during that was phenomenal. The terror on shin’s face as he was begging for death… just perfect I’ve been waiting to see the reunion scene animated for years now and I couldn’t be more happy with how it was handled.. with avid playing in the background… Damn near had tears in my eyes man PS: when the hell is the ost going to be on Apple Music in the west Edit: Still over here in tears tbh man. That was everything I’d been waiting for for 3years from 86… and to think we aren’t even anywhere close to the peak of this. |

| THIS IS CINEMA. I FUCKING LOVE 86. What a way to make a return. All that wait was more than worth it. The direction throughout the episode was exceptional and it was an incredible spectacle. When Shin and Lena met and Avid started playing, I cried. The tears wouldn't stop goddammit. I LOVE BOTH OF THEM SO FUCKING MUCH AAAAHHHHHH. Outstanding episode. It left me speechless. |

| Jesus this episode was so good, I don't even care about the delay. Lena and Shin have finally met and it seems she's kept the values she learned from her 86 brethren. Shin is beginning to overcome himself, lovely character development. |

Lena used to hear Shin's voice through Para-RAID which gives clear cut voice unlike radio which Shin used here. But Shin heard Lena's voice through Para-RAID so undoubtedly he recognized her.
