Personally I was afraid of Baba Yaga from fairy tale picture books, when I was in places with no people around I thought she's gonna apear and kidnap me or something
also please don't post here such obvious answers like "darkness" because everyone was afraid of darkness

Being in a dark room, I thought some demons would possess me if I stayed in one long enough but going through sleep paralysis a few times when I was 12 fixed it, the demons never do anything, they just want to chill.

I was a pretty blessed/sheltered kid, so naturally, I was also a scaredy-cat. Dogs, cats, bugs, the dark, mannequins, dolls, urban legends, strangers...anything that wasn't a part of my cozy little bubble would be extremely unsettling. Then, around my preteens, I did a complete 180° and have been pretty much fearless ever since, to the point where I'm maybe even reckless. Like, I'll purposely walk through deserted areas at 3 AM with my headphones on and not even bat an eye at the shady drunks around me. My friends always scold me for this lolol

I had problems with dreams. I still have the problem, but only when I am extremely tired. It's called dream paralysis and every time I had it, I was afraid to be alone. My anxiety was starting and I was afraid of everything around me.
At the same time, I was afraid of the sounds produced by the Television Tower in my city. Since I was little, a test is done once a month and a sound is heard all over the city.

The Ring (movie), it was a sunday afternoon and running down the stairs, seeing the girl in white robes and coming close to the TV, ran up stairs again. still remember that movie was just too effective

I always go at the Playstation cafe in case the big boys would either play CTR, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, The Legend of Dragoon, or Chrono Cross, but once they fire up Resident Evil, I'd be watching 10 meters away.

Clowns.
Now, while that might sound pretty cliché and "standard" (especially since that fear is still strong and kicking), there's actually a reason for this fear.

On my birthday - can't remember which one exactly, maybe my 4th or 5th - my parents hired a clown for the birthday party. When he arrived, he wasn't able to walk in a straight line and I couldn't understand a word he said. He started with his show and tried to make some balloon animals, but it didn't work out properly, and I remember that he suddenly pulled out a bottle. It must have been alcohol or something like that, because my parents decided to kick him out when he did that. However, he didn't want to leave, and I remember that he kicked some of the chairs and tables around.

I've never been able to forget this incident and I've always freaked out whenever I saw a clown from that day on.

Life hack: Don't hire a clown for your children's birthday party unless you want to scar them for life.

I actually couldn't think of anything till I read this post. I first seen this round a friends sleepover, hadn't seen any scary movies other than the 6th sense at this point (Which isnt actually scary but still did give me the creeps at a young age), the ring scared the crap out of me for a while after though! Think I was cured after one of the scary movies took the mick out of it haha.

I thought that if I were not sleeping before midnight, monsters hiding under the bed and behind the curtains would kill me. Thankfully, I always went to sleep before 10pm before I entered to college. I still remember of nightmares of this period; they were quite oppressing and scary.

Likewise, if I were to wake up at night, it was forbidden to leave my room as they were also hiding in the corridor.

There's this instrumental song (piano) being played on the radio during midnight when I was a kid. It's nothing like the scary tunes you hear on the background music of a typical horror movie, but for some reason it scared me. Unfortunately, I never learned its title.

Those hard ass plastic dolls where you're able to open-and-close their eyes. I always felt like I was being watched especially at night - they smell weird too.

The house across the street that an old lady died in but was never sold off by her kids. My neighbor would tell me stories about how at night he could sometimes see the lamp in the front window turn on and off, or the old rocker's shadow moving as if someone were in it. It didn't help not having dark curtains and a bed that faced directly out my window into that front window. Around the time I was twelve I ended up getting blackout curtains just because despite many sleepless nights proving that nothing was over there, it still bugged me every so often.

Other main fears were heights and mortality. Every time we would go to a water park and climb the metal stairs up to the top of the slides I'd have a panic attack for 15-20 minutes as I worried about it falling over. Didn't help me much that one of the roller coasters at the main theme park we'd go to every year ran right by one of the slides and would cause it to shake slightly.

Scared of No Face? I identified with him more than any other character. See how he is in my top 3 fave characters on MAL. See my No Face painting I got from comic con last year. If you have a problem with No Face then you have a problem with me. I’m that dude that stands out and looks all mysterious and is looking at society the same way that it looks at me. (Would attach a gif of No Face but you scared so...)

I was only afraid of horror movies as a kid.

I was scared of Daleks and cockroaches. The former because I watched people's skeletons showing (David Tennants time as Doctor) and the latter because of the scene in the Mummy where the mummy drowns in a pit of cockroaches.

I remember that scene in the movie - definitely one of my worst nightmare.

Speaking of movies, I was quite terrified of Hollow Man the first time I watched it.

My father not coming back home.
He is an Oil engineer and since I can recall, we would move from country to country or different cities while he was working.Back in that time communication was shit (no cell phones or any other way for fast communication) so if he had an accident (he had a couple, but never major) you would be notified hours or a day later so that was scary.
But the scariest day was when we got a call that while they were working on some oil rigs in the middle of the jungle in Ecuador there was an attack from a terrorist group that kidnaped and killed some people that were there. At that moment my dad and my uncle were together, but left that camp to another camp by helicopter 10m before it got raided. We didn't know anything from them for a couple of days because they were on radio silence. In the end, nothing happened to them, but sadly the negotiation with the terrorist didn't go so well and an American Engineer after being kidnapped on the jungle for months got killed to force the negotiations.
After that incident security was changed and the military would provide it.

This is gonna sound stupid, but there were two things I was afraid of as a little kid.

One, driverless cars. I used to have recurring dreams of being in the back seat of a car with no one driving.

and two, the moon! I used to be scared it would plummet to the Earth.
