Dragon (and Kobold) Game Project!
Posted 3 months agoHey again,
If you're in my Patreon server, watched one of my streams, or talked to me recently you probably know that I just started making a video game about kobolds and dragons. It's still early in pre-production as I'm still figuring out what is the best direction to achieve my vision (2d vs 3d is still in the debate right now even lol). The premise of the game is simple:
"You're a kobold, living in a dying world where blights are spreading throughout the lands beyond control. You don't remember much of your past life other than being a war veteran who was injured gravely, and now is in rehabilitation. You now serve a dragon master, the last surviving "archdragon" who believes the fate of all living beings depends on cleansing the blights for good. Some kobolds voluntarily, and some involuntarily assist him in this endeavour. The tension between two races have never been higher, and you're not about to just let the last hope of scalekind to vanish forever by this civil war."
(That's kind of the premise of the first arc, I have a story for the full game but it won't matter unless I make this a reality)
The game will be a singleplayer (most likely isometric) RPG with a back and forth loop between going out to explore, gather stuff and kill things, come back to upgrade the base to produce more materials, to craft even better weapons and armor which will let you fight even better. There'll be randomized instanced content (procedurally generated), and there'll be boss fights with a huge boss at the end of each arc. Defeating them will grant the player to unlock some permanent mechanics (like weapon upgrading, automation, etc.)
For the first prototype, I'd want to at least have a fluid combat system, loot and upgrade loop for dopamine (lol), simple base upgrade (or building) system, dungeon, main and side quest, and 1 big boss at the end.
Now if this is overwhelming, I'll dive even further and give video game references for each system I was inspired from:
Combat: I want to encourage the player to try out new builds when they see promising loot, make them constantly think of crazy ideas. There'll be a skill tree where players can spec into many different "classes" e.g. Melee, ranged, stealth, fire, lightning, water, earth. And they are encouraged to combine different disciplines together to create broken combos. Think of it like PoE but you don't have to do trading and can respec any time, and the combos will be much easier to figure out due to it being much less complicated. Think of it like multiclassing in DnD, or PoE where you chase after keystone nodes and unique items to break the game.
Loot: Each weapon have different "active skills" for example, a sword might have normal slashes but a greatsword could have a charged slash. There'll also be passive modifiers attached to it (e.g. +%damage for x seconds on a kill, +%damage after x combos etc.), which should be replaceable and movable (I don't plan to have it to be so toxic like in PoE2 lol)
Procedurally generated dungeons: This serves as the main challenge for the players to tackle. They can intentionally jack up the difficulty for better drop rates, but they also need better equipment in the first place, or maybe trying out different builds if it doesn't work
Base upgrading: This serves as a relaxing factor after doing a heavy combat or dungeon grind. Spending material to even make more material passively. So the players don't feel like they have to actively grind all the time. I particularly like the idea of Palworld's "Pal slavery" but them kobolds gonna enslave the dragons instead maybe hehehe
Quests: I have a proper story written down, while I think it's good and wish it to be as good as FFXIV (I really do), it'll serve mainly as an "immediate objective" for players who don't know what to do
With this kind of scope, if I do it alone it's most likely going to take years and would have huge chance to fail just by the workload. So I plan to recruit for some help and this is not for free: I want to commission some assets (mostly 3D art and maybe some 2D, music, and vfx) and if you want to tag along as a permanent member later, we can then discuss on percentages and stuff c:
My aim is always to actually make a good dragon game, and I don't think that will ever change, as my determination to create dragon content has never ceased and it's the main force driving me to stay alive these days. So if you're interested, or even just wish to talk, or if you can offer any insight at all I'd love to talk to ya!
Please send me a note, or shoot me a msg on Discord/Telegram if you are interested in discussing about it!

2024 Recap + 2025 Plans
Posted 3 months agoHey guys,
Fate here, in the US this time. Just gonna get straight to point, the recap and my ambitious plans going forward.
2024:
- Finished my master's degree with my eyes closed (it's a scam don't ever do it)
- Rough but landed an internship and a fulltime job as a game developer!
- Moved from California to Florida, highly prefer California but it's much cheaper here
- Failed to really start a new comic series (the big evil western dragon & the cute fluffy noodle thing), as I do not have many cute ideas to draw them
- Starting to design and prototype a personal dragon/kobold game
2025:
- Keep my job lol
- Have a fun, working prototype of the game
The game will be the most ambitious plan in my life. I'm lucky to know music, art, and programming all in one person.
My goal is simple: Make an actually good dragon game. I've seen way too many have failed and it's tragic, and now I have all the pieces: music, art, and programming, I'm gonna try to do it myself.
This project is so important to me, it is the only few remaining factors that keep me going forward, other than a few others who are alive in this world. I'll be rough and most likely fail, but I'll gladly give my life to realize it as long as it can be good enough lol
Will write more details in another post if anyone is interested! (Guidance is absolutely needed I suck at way too many things XD)

Moving to Orlando, Florida!
Posted a year agoHi,
As some of y'all might have seen from my last journal (or heard somewhere), I'm moving to Orlando next month (May) for my internship, and full-time job too hopefully. I'm looking for some local ppl to get to know and eventually hang out with from time to time! Could maybe get to know in chat or do some video games together idk. For irl stuff I enjoy pretty much any kind of good food and drinks. I'm down for almost any kind of outdoor activities tbh. DM or note me if you're interested :3
Oh I'll most likely go to Megaplex for like half a day or something since I will be living quite close to it. So see you there if you're going!

Happy Year of the Dragon! (2023 recap + 2024 plans)
Posted a year agoHi all,
Fate here, from the future for most of you as I’m back in Thailand for the time being. Visiting family. I’m currently in my old room, on my old bed, cuddling my pillows. I don’t miss this place as much as the year before, but I do have other concerns, like my relationship with friends, my social circles. I feel extra lonely lately and I’m unsure how to fix it.
2023 was tough. Many of those I talked to also agreed on that. But I’m hopeful for 2024, it’s going to be my year, OUR year. It’s year of the dragon after all. The last year of the dragon is also the year I started drawing dragons as well, 12 years so far.
I’ll group my 2023 recap into bullet points for ease of reading:
- Broke up with my ex
- Apply to a lot of tech jobs, got nothing back
- Picked up a new belief: Honestly and sincerity over everything
- Traveled to 5 new states, ~10 new US cities. Visited Taiwan for the first time.
- Learned how to make cocktails
- Learned how to DM in D&D, how to improvise in pretty much anything
- For the first time, realizing how needy and lonely I actually am
- At the end of the year, I got an unofficial internship offer in the game industry, so I’ll be able to stay in the US at least for 3 more years, working as a game developer. I’ll be moving to Orlando to live with good friends for this
- Family problem arising, mom and dad fighting more and more. I might be forced to take care of mom and sis financially at some point
2024 Plans:
- Finishing my master’s degree, but I can do this with my eyes closed honestly
- Code an actually working, full game as a side project
- Start my own brand of comic (pretty much like Qinter, but I’ll be able to do much more)
- Get a full-time offer at the end of my internship
- Moving on with relationship stuff, it’s been more than a year now
- Stop being a hypocrite only teaching others how to engage people then not doing it myself entirely
Thank you to you all for providing me meaningful interactions this year to shape me into who I am today. Regardless of what happened, or will happen, I wish you all a happy year of the dragon!
Edit: Oh, let me know if you want to let me know anything. For example, the piece I drew that you like the most for the last year!

Personal Life Update
Posted 2 years agoHi everyone,
It's been just over a month since my last journal, I remember the last time I wrote one. I was sitting there, at my desk in Thailand, in my own lovely bedroom where I used to work on a lot of artwork and get through my undergrad degree. I looked out to the window next to me, seeing skyscrapers, cars, a lot of lights, despite it being at midnight. I was thinking, I had only a few days left in Thailand, and I'm gonna miss it so much once I fly back to the US. And yea, I did miss it. Homesickness still strikes hard. Maybe *if* I somehow manage to get a high pay fulltime job here I'll miss my old place less, but I have gotten exactly just 1 screening interview so far, and I haven't heard anything else. Once my degree is finished, I'll most likely be kicked out of this country after 90 days of unemployment, and I'm only allowed to be employed in computer science related jobs as well.
Job isn't the only thing that is rough. It's been just a week since Valentine's day, but I'll have to bring this to light: I ended my relationship with whom I worked hard for years to finally move to live with them.
I'm just so tired of everything, I wanted everything to just, end. But knowing I'm still somewhat "not completely useless" to some people, I will still fight on.
Perhaps the only thing that has gotten better is my interaction with friends. I'm now able to give them much more attention to those who deserve it, and I've been feeling extra nice interacting with them lately. Not to mention, there are many new nice people I've met and hang out with during the last month, perhaps more than the entire last year. If you're one of them, whether new or old, I wanna let you know that you're awesome.

California Life Update + 2023
Posted 2 years agoHi,
It's about 2 hours until 2023 in Thailand, where I currently am right now. I've moved to the US, but flew back to Thailand to visit my mom during this winter break.
The last 5 months were the roughest I've ever had. Moving to a place over 8k miles away. Economic inflation hits hard, the job market sucks, and relationship life didn't go as well as I thought it would at least be. My apartment feels like it's going to break down and burn any day, landlord fucking sucks and she should be replaced by an AI already, but this is the only place I can comfortably afford as a student. I haven't been able to land an internship yet because I got no balls and only apply to FAANG companies which I never got a response back, I know I need to change this mindset immediately. But through all of that, I managed to survive the first semester, with a GPA of 3.85.
I went to MFF 2022, which was my first con ever, it was one of the greatest times I've had in my life. I feel like I'm my true self for the first time ever. My family teaches me about physical affection, but there I got hugs from friends, from people I know online and it was an exhilarating experience. I know my drawings can give people joy. Seeing them excited to meet me honestly makes me so happy. The lack of self-esteem was one of my biggest problems since I was a kid, but I'm finally starting to get better now.
I find another hobby that I have a passion in, cooking. I learned many new recipes, and I cook at least dinner for both my partner and myself every day. It was time-consuming as a student, but it could be useful in the future when I have guests.
2023 is going to be tough, even tougher. I wanna just flop and cry nonstop right now, but I'm too tired to do it. When I'm recovered though, I'll still keep fighting with all I have. I'll find a job and stay in the US so I can at least live comfortably and visit friends when I want, or have them over to my place.
Lastly, I wish you all a happy new year, I hope 2023 will treat us all much better than 2022!

Life Update + Games + Discord Server
Posted 4 years agoHeya,
I'll cover 2 big topics in this journal as the title said,
1. An update about my life,
2. Asking if anyone wanna play some games
3. Link to my discord, as I should've made it public for a very long time now
I've never really posted anything about my life here but here we go
So, I just graduated, got a bachelor's degree in computer engineering in my home country, but I'm thinking about getting a master's in machine learning or apply for jobs/internships in the US. It's going to be very tough and take quite some time for me. So right now I'll be working as a research assistant at my university to gain more experience as I seek opportunities. But right now I'm pretty much completely burnt out from the last semester, feeling terrible all these months I've been pushing myself over my limit continuously, so I decided to take a break for about a month or two. That's where the second topic comes in
Two months that I'm taking a break, I wonder if anyone's down to play some games? My interests are pretty narrow as I'm really only interested in RPG genre. My favorite games that I'd be absolutely down to play are Monster Hunter Rise (maybe World too), Divinity Original Sin 2, FF14, Guild Wars 2. I also don't mind trying out new games if it's not too... fast-paced, or first-person view (I have motion sickness). Additionally I'm also very into roguelike games like Risk of Rain 2 and Hades, so I'm down to play it or try out new multiplayer roguelikes as well
My Discord is darkenstardragon#2672 if you wanna talk about this in private
And lastly, I've been building a Discord server for about 2 years now, we welcome anyone who loves dragons or Wings of Fire! We also have gaming and art section available as well
